Strategic Grants will support larger/strategic projects on specific thematic areas identified by LevizAlbania that will aim to influence the national agenda. Strategic Grants could include support to solid organizations and coalitions in fomenting joint actions and strategic advocacy, to address systemic challenges or generating data/evidences and knowledge on issues of high public interest. Such grants might cover promoting networks and alliances in specific thematic areas, national monitoring instruments of key areas of TAR, local democracy indicators, capitalization of projects implemented under Phase I, monitoring the effects of individual actions and projects supported under Phase II, etc.

Through Strategic Grants, LevizAlbania will promote cooperation and collaboration, based on past experiences and the belief that change can be achieved as a result of mixed groups of accountability actors working together. This can take the form of horizontal cooperation among civic actors, such as NPOs teaming up with media organizations or investigative journalists; or watchdog organizations partnering with evidence-based think tanks or NPOs working with one or more active citizens in the community.
