Title of the Project: Repeal incinerators, the gates of imports of waste - PIPIP

Project goal:

• Clarify to the public and before local and central decision-making that incineration is an inadequate and risky option for Albania and to establish a waste management scheme in Fier to ensure less risky and costly management low in terms of Albania.
• Objective 1: Advocate the cancellation of the concession for the construction of the Fieri incinerator and the provision of a better alternative, according to the law on waste management.
• Objective 2: Offering alternatives in Fier, according to law, based on prevention, waste separation, reuse and recycling associated with landfill standardized with best European practices, which serve as a reference for other municipalities in the country.

Activities:

• Awareness for anti-incineration issue of the community of Fier; Determination of the most appropriate eco-environmental variant of Fier landfill;
• Demonstrate plastic seperation at source.
• The team sketches the alternative variant
• Advocacy action, organization of an on-line petition for refusing the incinerator concession and its pursuit
• Promote and organize local stock protests for resistance to any dictated step of progression of procedures. Organizing a large protest in function of event flow and creation of momentum that guarantees critical mass of protesters
